Chocolate Strawberry Slivers

With so much to think about leading up to the big night like: Where to go? What to wear? Should I invite friends and family over, and if so what snacks will we eat?

For those of you who are hosting a New Year’s Eve party, let us help you take one thing off your list. Having champagne for a midnight toast is standard, but what about a snack pairing? While chocolate covered strawberries can be a no brainer…why not spice it up? Start the new year off right with an exciting new take on the chocolate covered treat. Chocolate-Strawberry Slivers!

Start by cutting off the leaf, then cut strawberries in half.

Place strawberries on cooking sheet flat side up. Cook for two hours at 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Turn the strawberries over and cook an additional two hours. Cooking strawberries will extract the juice while baking the sugar into the berries.

For the bark, melt semi-sweet chocolate down to a liquid. Pour a thin layer over a parchment lined pan.

Place strawberries on top of chocolate.

Add some dazzle to this dish by drizzling melted white chocolate over the strawberries.

Freeze for 20 minutes. Peel the parchment paper from the bottom and cut the bark into the desired size you prefer.
